Save file is gone...

Hey everyone, I'm really sad right now because my save file is gone. I played last night, went to bed, and when I woke up this morning I started the game and there is no save, nothing... What can I do?

Oh no! I'm really sorry this happened to you! I know how frustrating this must be 😢

When you mentioned there's no save, did you mean it's completely gone and there's no save file to be clicked except for the new game? Or did your save file still there but it's rolled back to few days before so you lost some of your progression? 😮 @cyan drum

Also, can you specify which PC platform you play the game on? Is it Steam or Xbox PC?

Hi ! I started over but it was completely gone, nothing left, so I started a new one. And I am on Steam :)

Ah if you're playing on Steam and want to search for your missing save file, you can check your Steam Cloud storage through this link: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage. Search for Coral Island and click on “show files”.

Search for file name “ProjectCoral/Saved/SaveGames/DailySave_0.sav”, download the file, copy and paste it into your save file folder (follow this file path → C:\Users\ <username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames), then rename it to “DailySave_0.sav” 🙂

Hello @weary pecan. I'm really sorry for your lost save file! 🙇‍♀️
I know it must be really frustrating to lost all your progress like that

Can you try going to the setting > changing Show Backup to "yes" > starting a new game until finish the opening cutscene > going back to the save list on the main menu > toggling on the Show Backup on the bottom left side of your screen to see if you're able to find the backup for your missing save file?

Please let us know again, and I'm truly sorry to make you feel this way 🙇‍♀️

thank you for getting back to me iv managed to sort it and get my save file back. I put the toggle on to show backup at first that didn't help so I close the game completely off then turned my xbox off left it a few minutes then turned the xbox back on loaded the game back up and the save was showing and it was showing my backups as well so thank you for getting back to me I'm just glad I was able to get it back and didn't have to start a new game. but since the update the crashes are getting worse

Thank you for giving us an update! Thankfully the missing save file comes back again 😊
And yes we're aware of the crash issue, other players have reported it as well. We're still gathering some information from them 🙌
