Hi there, so I got the sturdy computer, with all the add ons, fish, insects & foragables… however the fish one doesn’t let me zoom in on the map to see where they are in that day, but the insect one & foragables one does work for zooming, & I was able to find the Titan arum flower with it.. so I know it’s working, again it’s only the fish one…. Help?

Why do bugs & the ground items have active spawns & not fish?
I’m trying to find the remaining I didn’t find, like great white shark etc

That isn’t what I mean Sal, with the foragables & insects you can zoom in to see if they actually are there… fish you can’t from what @hushed coral said

Yeah 😦 which you mentioned above, it sucks though as it doesn’t tell me if they are there at that exact moment like insects & foragables does

there are your current time showed at the top left corner. and the fish avaiable to catch at (x) time showed
also. the fish is technically unlimited in the water, and is random number generated therefore there cant be an icon like the others. that would be complicated
but yeah, it would be nice to be abble to zoom in there :D

Yeah 😦 just the others have zoom feature so I knew for sure was there but the fish don’t!! 😦

the sturdy computer works well enough to find the fish , insects & foragables.. just wish there was a add on to the sturdy computer for crops, fossils & artifacts

Yeah seems u can’t zoom in on the fish one because there is no guarantee as to what is in the water. Like with foragables, if u zoom in and it shows canola, and u go to that spot u find canola. If u go to a spot to fish, you can’t guarantee that when u cast u will catch one specific fish, but rather u have a chance to catch 3-6 fish in a given fishing spot. Hope that makes sense. It would be nice if u could still zoom in on the fish one, but I understand why u can’t.

It will show up and you can see that next to the fish is a museum icon which tells you if you already have donated it. Zoom in for fish will never be a thing since when you cast your fishing rod, it's more or less random which fish will be caught at that moment. The fishing component will show you which fish are available at the specific areas and their time of day

With the fish , I would use the sturdy computer for specific fish and it was always in that spot so had no issues with it 🙂 just wish now I could find the right artifacts & fossils I need quicker but oh well

The fossils are just like fishing, totally random, there’s absolutely no way to tell what is in a Fossil node/ geode / coffer until you crack them open.
Just like there’s no way to tell what specific fish u will get on any given cast. There are odds that make one fish more likely than another, but there is no guarantee say u cast out of Zarahs boat in the summer, there’s not a guarantee u will get the rare fish on the first cast, but there are odds that it could be.

The fishing doesn’t seem to be random though at least not in my case the sturdy computer says the fish is there, the fish has always been there

the sturdy computer shows what fish are catchabble on the area, with certain chance, the fish is indeed there in the area as shown in the sturdy computer. But yeah, as what i say on the first sentence what fish you got is still rng. i hope that makes it clearer? 😉
The other factors that affect what fish you get are cast length and what bait you use.
