Game keeps crashing when I try to go to bed

My game has crashed on multiple ocassions now and it has been while trying to open the save file, go to bed to save, go to the next day, and even when trying to dive. I don't really know what would be causing this because the only thing I do that seems consistent is water my farm. I am on a PC and am playing through steam.

Hi @summer matrix, I started the game back up continued playing until it crashed again. This time, it crashed when I closed the second chest. I checked to see if this new report had been saved yet, however I cannot find it. Let me know if this helps at all.

Hi @summer matrix unfortunately my computer crashed and made me do a reset and I lost all my crash report files. With that being said I cannot send the last crash report. However, I will try again and try to send you the next crash report. As for the save file, could you tell me how to find that please? I currently have the game saved to my steam cloud so I don‘t know if I need to get it from there or if there might be a local area I can check.

I have just had the game close out on me without giving me the option to send a crash report so I have no idea what is going on…

As for your save file, you can copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames. It's the DailySave.sav file!

Hi @summer matrix, the game is now crashing when I try to open my save in the game. It has done this 3 times in a row now this morning but only provided 2 crash reports which I have attached here along with the save file. Please let me know if this helps.

You mentioned it crash when open your save file, does it crash directly when you click on your save file from the main menu? Or you've successfully open the save file and play for a bit, then crashed? 😮

@summer matrix, I make it to the title/ main menu, click play and then the save file and it crashes while it is loading. That is what happened for the first two times. The 3rd time it crashed (the one where it didn’t give me the crash report) I was able to move my character for maybe a second or two and then it just crashed.

Can you try to verify the integrity of the game files to see if the issue is resolved? You can verify the integrity of game files by right-clicking the game on Steam Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files 🙂

Hi @summer matrix, just did this and tried to start the game back up. Once again, it let me make it through the title screen, showed me in my house and within a few seconds the game crashed again. I have attached the crash report.

Hi @hushed prawn. Can you try to open the game again, click settings, and toggle on show backup, then go to the save list, click show backup, and try loading the backup of your save file to see if the crash doesn't occur anymore? 😮

@summer matrix I just tried this, it let me play for a little longer. I was able to harvest maybe 6-7 peppers and then my entire computer crashed, not just the game.. I have no idea what is happening.

Hmmm... it's weird you mentioned your computer crashed, do you mean it's suddenly shut down?

Yes my windows crashed and the blue screen came up and restarted and stuff…

Hi, yes but I don’t remember what it said. My memory is not great unfortunately..

It’s also goes so quickly that it’s hard to read the entire message sometimes
