Hello fellow islanders,

I've recently discovered Coral Island and have been thoroughly enjoying it for the past four days. I have to say, I love the game! This is my first time playing a cozy game, by the way.

I'm currently stuck on the famous "Follow the Retreated Root" quest step. I've seen that many others have also gotten stuck here and have asked questions. I followed the given answers, did what was suggested, completed the 20/20 task, and have now accessed the area with the silver kelps. I made 8 more rescues there, so I should have made 28 saves in total by now. Unfortunately, the quest progression seems to be stuck here.

Most people suggested going down those yellow circular surfaces, but as you can see in the screenshot, it's closed off and I can't go down there. I'm worried that my save might have bugged. What should I do? Is there a solution to my current situation? I've shared screenshots of the map, the yellow area I can't descend, and my quest status.

Go down the ramp to the right of the yellow pads.

yes i can go there, and did it, activated a few of the 20m area thingies, but the quest log doesnt updated still, so that makes me worry about my quest being bugged? shout it transformed into 28/50 after 20/20. It is still stuck at ''Follow the retreated root'' step. ,

I can give you a map that a community member made of the ocean paths but it shows the whole ocean so it might be a spoiler.

Oh thanks @stable gull I'm on my phone so I didn't realize that's what you linked since it doesn't like to load stuff half the time.

Oh and make sure you saw the cutscene with Ling after you made it to the silver area and saw the merfolk. You need your updated diving suit to progress at the end of that area.
