#Interactions and hotbar unavailable after trying to eat while exhausted

I reached exhaustion (-5 stamina), and tried eating something in my inventory to boost my stamina. My character didn't eat the thing I set them to eat.. instead, my hotbar became unusable (wouldn't even switch over to an item or tool if i used scroll wheel or pressed a number), and interacting with any NPC or item became impossible. I couldn't even enter my home to go to bed because of this 😅

I ended up using the "I'm Stuck" button, and it brought me to the next day, waking up in the hospital etc. Problem was, though... I still couldn't interact with items, and my hotbar still wouldn't work. Game restart made the hotbar and interactions work again.

I was diving when i became exhausted, and got kicked out of the diving mode after reaching negative stamina - not sure if that had something to do with it.

Sadly I didn't think to save a video of it after it happened :((

Game version: v1.0-948

Platform: Steam

PC Specs:

  • Windows 11 Home (64-bit operating system)

  • 16GB RAM

Update: it seems that the diving part may be the issue?

I got to low stamina again (though not negative), and decided to leave. When I got back on land, I once again couldn't interact with things. The hotbar didn't freeze this time, though it didnt work either. As seen in the video, even when I tried to catch an insect, the net wouldn't swing when i clicked to swing it. Aaand also as seen in the video, this caused my character to walk backwards when going left iara_nervous_sweat And, once again, I cannot enter my home 😭
