Slightly different but related isssue: I didn't get that achievement on Steam (playing on the default branch). I'd already reached heart 8 with all townies before the new update (not with the merfolk and not with the giants). So if I understand it correctly, I should qualify but I didn't get the achievement. Neither in-game nor on Steam
