Beta version save file

When the beta will be released we will have to start a new game? and when the update will come you won't be able to use the save you used for the beta version ?

if you've never played the beta- yes you start a new file

and no- you cannot bring your beta save to the live branch

any point in playing the beta then if u are just going to have to restart when 1.1 fully releases (if u did play on beta)

you do not have to restart when 1.1 reaches main unless you want to

no you can't copy your beta save to the main game

it's always ended up corrupted for people who have tried

I am so confused of whats going on with this update? Ive been waiting all day to hear something about it and theres nothing? Im pretty sure I have beta but I dont know anything about a code?

it is still the 20th for many people in the world- they still have time

while the team hasn't confirmed- it appears something went wrong as the team has been working all night (we can see this on steamDB)

with that being said- the team is still working on getting it to us to test so there is no update other than just wait for the code

you dont have the beta because the beta isn't open yet. no one has the beta

once they do an annoucement- then we will be able to go in- but ultimately- sometimes coding just doesn't go as planned and things get delayed. novita pinned a bunch of messages in #🐔coral-general so there was communication but it says what i just said- they're still working on getting it up

the last update to steamDB was at 3AM dev time- so they're doing what they can

if you've never played a beta- you are starting a file from day 1 year 1

if you have- we dont know if we can continue or if we are getting new game plus

as for your main game file- that will integrate and you will not have to start over once this offically releases

there's no stupid questions. do not feel that way 🙂

they will give us a code- and in the properties of the game (so you'll right click in your library)--there's a section for beta to put the code into, you'll select it, and then it will auto download

so you'll put the code in- and then hit check code- once that's done, you'll change the dropdown that says none to the beta

the only thing to make sure you do is not copy and extra space when you copy your code. it'll tell you its invald

depends on how the game behaves- during .5 beta-they'd fix a bug and an old one would return

if the game cooperates- beta could be as short as 2-3 weeks

if it does that again- it could be 2 months

Betas are to test.. do you want to completely break your save? We have no clue the types of bugs hiding in the game with all the new stuff.
Regarding the beta code, They will give code when they feel like its ready

Can we all just chill a tic? The Devs are doing their best to release things on time, but there could be issues and they don't want to break the game with an unsafe (but on time) release. I know we're all excited, but chill.

Sorry, i didn't read everything , but i just would say that i'm playing on the beta brench with my GamePass save ( wasn't easy to make it works 😄 ) because i bought the game on steam just to play on the 1.1 version. PS: @rotund star my save files are safe and will be ready for the live version , and ATM pretty sure i gonna play with my beta save on the live.

Q: Will this overwrite my main save file?
A: No! This will not tamper with any of your existing save files. The Beta branch will use a completely separate save location. So, when you move back to the main branch, your existing save will still be there.

Completely separate save location ? It's just a new folder called BETA in the existing save folder. Just manage it properly and it will be safe 😉
