I didn't adopt a pet until after I received my mythical pet from the altar completion. Now if I try to compete in the pet race at the animal festival, whatever pet is competing with me is invisible. I'm not sure if it's the dog I adopted or the pet from the goddess, but I can only see the circle when it trails too far behind or the sprint trail.
