I had only the sakura outfit equipped while I shopped and purchased this set of clothes. The sakura outfit went into my inventory as I came out wearing what I bought, but the other tabs that had clothes in them are unable to be selected. When going underwater, I'm no longer wearing the top I bought before either. So it looks like all my other clothes were wiped and my tabs now glitched.

I unfortunately don't know how many days ago in this save file it started, but I'll do my best to dig.

After locating the save file with me wearing the sakura outfit in my first tab, I've found that my outfit tabs were already glitched/wiped before buying the new set of clothes anyway it seems. I do know I had a pink hoodie in tab 2 at the very least. And one of the merfolk tops in a tab. So I'm not sure what caused it to happen or when now.

Strange! I’ll look at (and possibly send) my most recent save when I get home again. The one I sent was the old save, before purchasing more clothes.
