After losing my save file in December (https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1105385747290280036/threads/1184710633388769300) I stopped playing. I've recently started again, and have been keeping track of my crashes. Good news is it's a lot more stable than it was in December. Bad news is it still crashes.

Crash #1: Year 1, Spring 16
Crashed when trying to speak to Scott in the museum
What I remember doing that day: Upgrade pickaxe, crafted extractor, talked to Sam about local produce, gave Ben his cauliflower, caught and donated bugs.

Crash #2: Year 1, Summer 6
Crashed when going to bed at the end of the day
What I remember doing that day: Mostly ocean cleaning. Same day as donating my 50th item to the museum.

Crash #3: Year 1, Summer 22
Crashed upon entering the lab
What I remember doing that day: Had just donated several items, up to #79. Harvesting and putting items in the sell box. Opened chests etc, talked to Pablo and gave him a gift. Made offerings.

Crash #4: Year 1, Fall 2.
Crashed when going to bed at the end of the day
What I remember doing that day: Had the Giants cut scene for helping them go into the village (want to make a disguise with baabaa hair, etc). Enchanted a tool. Mining for gold (although that was possibly the day before) and bronze for sure right at the end of the day.

I just had crash #4 today and typically (including today) when I experience a crash I'm so annoyed I shut down the Xbox and don't play any more that day, so I haven't retried Fall 2 again yet. The other three crashes happend over the past couple of weeks, and when I retried the crash day, I didn't experience the same crash when I did the same actions. Of course I don't remember EXACTLY what I did on any given day, but retrying the specific action that crashed previously hasn't crashed again.

Do you remember playing for several in-game days before all of the crashes happened? Can you tell me your game time speed setting?

@muted oxide I can’t say for sure for the first three although it’s likely. For the fourth one I definitely played for multiple game days. I haven’t changed the default speed setting but I can confirm the next time I play what it is set to. I assume that’s in settings somewhere?

I had crush number five last night. It was only the second game day that I played. first I played year 1 Fall 14, in which I mostly did harvesting but I also removed the log near the Hot Spring, and then fell unconscious due to not noticing how late it was. But that was fine, no crash. Then fall 15 was the harvest festival day. I did harvesting, explored the new area west of the forest, opened some geodes and fossils, went home to pick up my goods for the fair, and then went to the festival and crashed immediately upon saying yes to starting it.

Since it was only the second day that I had played, I did try again immediately. Fall 15 was successful on the second try including the festival, I also got a cut scene when I visited the blacksmith regarding playing pool that I didn’t get the first time through.

Do you remember what is the similar activities that you always do in all of the crashes? 😮 Can you also share a screenshot of your town rank progression in journal?

My usual day is to take care of my farm first (harvest, use mason jars, take care of sheep and cow, collect syrup from trees and honey from bees, collect anything that was working overnight like dehydrators or solar panel etc)

After that I do whatever is on my agenda for the day. If I have some geodes or fossils I’ll go see the blacksmith or lab first, drop off new stuff at the museum, and take the rest home and store in chests.

Then I’ll either head to the mines or the ocean and spend the rest of the day there.

When I come home from that, I stash all my earnings in my chests, do one more round of the artisan machines and collect their items and fill them up again, load up my sell bin, and go to bed.

Crash #6 today was on Fall 26 Year 1. I did basically what I said above, but had also bought my first coop. It was an ocean day rather than a mining day. The crash happened as I went to bed.

Oh, I had received a furniture gift from the museum for the first time — I think at donation number 120?

And finally, until I think of another detail, I had played continuously from Fall 18 before this crash. However the crash before was on only my second game day.

Crash #7 - Year 1 Winter 8. Had been playing for a while, so it kind of blends together. I know for sure I bought a second duck that day because I didn’t have it when I resumed. I ended the day with Ocean cleanup. I think I also had opened some chests I had on hand and made a single donation to the museum earlier in the day before going to the ocean.

Turns out that was also the same day I upgraded the enchantment on my scythe to No energy drain level 2

Crash 8

Year 1 Winter 18
Did farm work, ocean cleaning until 5 pm then attended winter festival. Crashed after seeing I got first place in the critter trivia.

It was only my second game-day I played in that session. Started W17 at 7:05 pm real time, and crashed on W18 at 7:52 real time.

Crash 9 - year 1, winter 26
A day of mostly bumming around. I did my farming work, opened all of my saved up chests (and got the cut scene of Rafael’s parents writing a letter and spelling his name wrong) and fossils, did a bit of fishing in the north near the hotspots with some foraging along the way. Did not donate anything to the museum, just stashed it for another day.

Then I went home and decided to get rid of my earth giant hat so tried to put it in my house storage but I was still wearing it. I took it off and put it in my backpack, went into house storage again, and it hung there for a good 10+ seconds but seemed to recover. I exited house storage, and then it crashed.

Turns out that was also the same day I received the architects desk. I used it to move a tree slightly to see how it worked.

Crash 10 - Year 2, Spring 11

Created upon going to bed. Finished the day with ocean harvesting. Had bought a quail (my first after recently upgrading my coop) and several cooking utensils. And of course did all the usual farm/ranch duties.

Crash happened at 3:51, I had started playing at 2:25 on Spring 9.

Crash 11 - crashed after playing multiple game-days immediately upon waking up (had walked towards cat) - didn’t record which day

Crash 12 - year 2 summer 3 - crashed upon going to bed. Had played few days. Not entirely sure what all I did that day but had been upgrading lots of stuff in that gaming session so might have been auto feeder and such (edit: no I still have those) — but I ended the day in the caves of endless trash trying to replenish my supply so I can make more scrap.

On Xbox series s crashes every three or two days in a seemingly random way! Although it seems more like it when there are loading screens or you access the menu or perform some action

Crash 12 - year 2, summer 12
Crashed upon starting animal festival. Had collected ranch items etc, then spent a bit of time underwater gathering dehydratables and dropped them off at my farm for processing, then quick travelled to pier and approached the festival from the beach at about 11 AM. Answered yes to start the festival, it hesitated, then crashed.

This was the first game day I had played this session, but I had okayed earlier in the day and shut the console down. Normally I do “return to title” before shutting down but hadn’t this time.

Crash 13 - year 2 summer 24
Crashed while “saving” was on screen. I was scared my save file would be gone but it was still there, thank goodness!

It repented to Summer 24 again, so I did lose that whole day’s worth of work. I had spent the majority of the day building a stone fence around my animal area, and the fence building interface is awful so that’s really frustrating to lose.

Crash 14 - year 2 fall 10
Collected a few things, including rice so made onigiri and offered it, opening up the oil press. Loaded that up with black truffles then headed to the lab and developed the student computer. Came home and placed it outside and was looking through what it had — and it crashed when I tried to view the inside furniture tab.

Crash 15 - year 2 fall 13
Crashed while “saving” was on screen. I had spent some time harvesting / cleaning underwater and scavenging. I had dropped off one of my two bronze bug nets (I do not know how I got two!! I think when I did the “retrieve forgotten tool” option at Sunny’s) to be upgraded to silver. I had crafted my first flying insect trap near the end of the day and left it near the mines. I had offered white truffle oil.

Crash 16 - year 2 fall 24
Crashed upon trying to access the insect forecast in my computer. I had spent the morning doing rare cooking, so had made Es Cendol, Serabi, then harvested a lemon, caught a shrimp, made Pad Thai. After I offered all of those I did some selling Eg of the extras of the food plus things that were ready from my machines. Then intended to work on Day Insect but crashed instead.

Crash 17 - year 2 winter 5
I had just barely started my day. Said hello to my cat, checked my auto chests and put stuff out to sell. Let the animals out of coop and barn, and got on my horse. Placed a gate in a gap I’d left in my fence previously. Checked the fish forecast on my outdoor computer and confirmed the one I was trying for the previous day was still there (while still sitting on my horse) then exited the computer and started to ride towards the fast travel gate when the horse stopped moving, and then the game crashed.

Crash 18 year 2 winter 16
Crashed when trying to talk to someone

Got mail in the morning saying festival the next few days. Did my morning routine then ran around catching bugs to make fishing bait. I was just entering the lake shore area and walked up to a character and pressed A to talk to them prior to it even showing the prompt to talk - and it crashed.
