Do you mean that the merit points didn't show up, or that it didn't affect your town rank? Also what system are you playing on?

Can you clarify if the issue you reported was the merits point didn't appear on the activity log in the journal? 😮
Also, merit points are never intended to increase the town rank. Merit points are used to exchanged for various items in the community center 😉
Can you also share a screenshot of your activity's log on journal? 🙂

Merit points have never affected town rank. It's always been ocean, museum, and heritage. Merit points are ONLY used to purchase stuff from the merit store in the town hall.
