Not getting the items sent via mail

Reproduction steps:
During the Spooky Day Festival, my inventory was full so the Pink Diamond was sent through mail. However, when I clicked enter to collect the item, it didn't appear in my inventory as far as I can recall.

Repro Rate:
I think this has happened a few times whenever villagers will try to send me gifts through mail.
