I'm playing on a windows 10 PC and I just dug up a green plant only to find this red ball with the game's symbol. It doesn't let me pick it up even though I have space.
I'm playing on the version 1.0-947 (I think)

It's an item that's been removed from the game.

Yeah it was PC through Steam and it was the first time. Thus far I haven't seen any more.
