ok im confused about the heart events

when do they start cause i now have like 6 out of 10 hearts with Noah but last 2 are locked should i search for heartevents?

You get a letter in the mail about giving people a locket to unlock the last 2 hearts once you reach 8 hearts

So keep playing and the game will tell you what to do
