Has anybody made the switch before from xbox to pc? I’m curious if my save file on xbox would transfer over to my PC. It’s the same xbox account so I am hoping but I also don’t want to load the PC game and my xbox file disappears.

People have been able to pull their game from game pass to PC, but it frequently corrupts their save. Another issue is for much of the time, non-PC versions not the same update version number. as the PC version.

I have played my save on both and haven't had an issue yet with corruption but theres been a few hotfixes since I played between the two.

I believe they're referring to transferring to XBOX Console to XBOX PC?
Which isn't the same as pulling from XBOX PC to Steam

Xbox PC and consoles are pretty much the same version.

I don't know of any way to get actual console saves to PC, but I would imagine it would also corrupt

It's through cloud saving. It's all through game pass not steam. Normally if consoles have an update then PC version does also.

right, the PC version gets it first, and then the consoles have to wait for approval. that's why if you look in the changelist channel, the consoles get the same update PC does days later, and GP sometimes doesn't get it at all

I know a update or two that came through for console but not PC was for issues PC wasn't really dealing with but consoles were.

As an example, steam got the hotfix that prevented torches from crashing the game on 2/21, Xbox and Playstation didn't get it until 3/11, gamepass didn't get it until 4/4

I was hoping that if I switch to PC it won’t crash as often. I’m 3 easy things away on my temple and 6 collectibles that I have to wait for next season. I’m willing to restart after I reach that point.

That's why I said I would test the one save I have since it was originally an console save and see what happens if I play it on PC. I would risk a save that advanced either.

Just to add though- some people don't have a save break right away- some get to play for a month or 2 before it explodes trying to make moves like that. So don't get too excited.
I lost a 250 hour save like that
