Can't pickup mayor's hat during Winter Fair

Description of issue: Don't think this was pointed out yet. Not able to pick up the hat on the beach during the Winter Festival.

playing this on Steam, currenly also cannot complete the quest. I See the hat, it even sparkles, but I can't interact with it

Not sure if this helps but this happened to me the other day. I swung my net at it a few times and ran away and came back and repeated and eventually I had a “Pick” option show up. I play on Steam with a controller.

Hello, I originally got this quest 3 seasons ago, I have tried during festivals, all the tools, spending entire energy bars trying to pick it up and I can't seem to get it. I am using the XBOX app on my gaming pc.

Hi! I had this problem too today, its a controller problem, since in controller we must wait for the "Press X" option to appear to do the action. If you are playing on PC change input mode to mouse and keyboard and move your mouse over the hat, then the option appears to pick it up. Unfortunately this only works if you are in PC since obviously you cant change input mode in console.

Reproduction steps: try to pick the hat with controller
Repro rate: Almost everytime with a controller
Platform: Steam
Input mode: controller
Version: 1.1 - 1225
