I am in the silver kelp area, I recently got diving suit 2 however I do not know how to advance since the two viable paths will be south or east and I have both blocked with roots and I do not have any orb area to continue advancing I find myself a little blocked because I don't know what to do to continue and I feel like I'm wasting game time.

I remember feeling stuck in the silver area. Go RIGHT up to roots - for me that was the key. The roots moved when I got right up to them, otherwise they looked like they were closing off a path.
