I won/bought some furniture from the winter festival, and went to decorate/store it. The Javanese bed went into house storage, and then disappeared. I placed an antique radio (bought from Ben’s stall at the winter festival) in the house, but still ended up with a duplicate in my pack.

So the issue didn't happen again after you tried to replicate it? 😮

Playing on PC. It didn’t happen again; I’m not sure if it’s somehow related to trying to furnish the same day vs after going to sleep?
Wallpaper never shows up in the house decor section, but I was able to use it by just selecting it in the backpack during gameplay, and then clicking on the walls.

I'm having the same issue!

I placed down a corkboard, a large aquarium cabinet, and a Hinoki Hanging Rack. All of the items got placed in my home and remained in my inventory, too, meaning I got duplicates of them.

On a similar note, I tried to place a fruit bowl in the middle of my kitchen floor, and it disappeared. It has not been back since, I've tried buying several fruit bowls and when I walk into my house they disappear from my inventory... Once it just disappeared right off my hotbar, second time the kitchen floor ate it. Third time the kitchen floor ate it.

I'm playing on PC version, build 1.0-947. I just want a fruit bowl. I've bought five. Please. 🥺

Hello! I am also having the same issue on PC/steam. I have purchased a few items of furniture and it’s only the flooring and wallpaper that is not appearing when I enter the decoration menu

I’ve also had issues with items npc’s have been holding that just float and not in their hands.

sorry for the split messages / work but here is an example of random items floating. furniture after purchasing just wont show.

I was able to consistently replicate this bug:

  1. Have an item (e.g., hay chest) placed in your house
  2. Have the item you want to duplicate (e.g., witch's cauldron) in your hotbar
  3. Enter decorate mode
  4. Place the item you want to duplicate (e.g., witch's cauldron) in your house
  5. Pick up the original item (e.g., hay chest) from your house and "Put Back" into inventory
  6. "Finish" decorate mode
    The original item (e.g., hay chest) you "Put Back" will be completely gone, and a copy of the item (e.g., witch's cauldron) you placed is still in your hotbar, allowing you to place it again.

It's not so much a duplication glitch, but seems to be a replacement/overwrite glitch (likely to do with a memory/stack issue). You're basically just "sacrificing" one item for another.

Hello! (First time posting sorry if I’m reporting this wrong) but I have ran into this issue on the PS5 as well. My wall bookshelf disappeared and I have duplicates of some furniture I have placed. With addition to only being able to purchase one unit of the same wallpaper.

I had bought furniture from the store and when I transferred it from inventory to storage, it wasn't there when I went to decorate. I also bought furniture from the sturdy computer and it wasn't in my inventory or in my house storage.

Oh! Just realized the sturdy computer delivers the items. At least that issue is solved joystroke

My fireplace went missing when I put it in storage! And I thought I bought a radiator and a plant but never seen them again so I figured I maybe never bought them but this thread confirms the idea they've just vanished surprisedstatic
