So I'm trying to Romance Wakuu and got to 7 hearts with him but I can't seem to get 8. When talking to his dad, I said the "friends" option because I thought it was awkward to tell the man's dad "I like him as more than a friend."
Did I ruin getting an 8th heart by choosing the friendly option?

That shouldn't have any effect on increasing his hearts. Are you still gifting him his liked and loved foods and talking to him every day?

No. You need increasingly more points as you get higher in friendship
These are not exact numbers, just an example
So from 0 to 1 you need 100
1 to 2- 250
2-3 400
3-4 600
4-5 800
And so on and the increase gets more dramatic. Kind of like leveling your skils.
You need 100 ish for level one but for level 10 it's like 2 or 3k

I am! It hasn't seemed to go up. However, it's only been 2 weeks. I wasn't sure if that would effect it since it seemed like I got the other 7 hearts ridiculously fast

8 hearts takes a while to get. Once you do finish that up heart 9 and 10 will also take a while
