Hi all,
With the update that released, does it apply the patches needed to play Coral Island on game console?
I’ve been told in the past to “wait until the update” to play Coral Island on xbox.
Can anyone please confirm if this update is that one that people told me about?

My honest recommendation is always to play the Steam PC version if your computer is meets the required specs. Steam hotfixes come out faster than xbox and it's way more stable
If your only option is xbox then maybe waiting is the better choice. The devs are constantly working towards more stable gameplay on the consoles but it may take some time and various updates to get there

I don't have a PC. The only platforms I have are Xbox One Series S and Nintendo Switch.
So, my only option is one of those 2 game consoles.
Therefore, I've been waiting for when "the update" will launch that will make the game stable enough to play (just like the PC version).
I just hope Stairway Games will notify us when that specific update is applied to the game consoles...
I want to play Coral Island, but I'd prefer to play the game when it's stable enough to play without issues.

At the moment you have to wait for the fix for crashing when opening your farm if you have torches on the farm. You have to wait for a fix for saving because you're farm could get deleted so you have to wait that's what I have been doing am on Xbox too.

I will say, in terms of stability, it is far better now than it was in November (I think) when 1.0 came out. The only real game-breaking issue right now is sometimes there is a crash during saving that somehow lines up just right that will delete your save because it get’s corrupted.

When I was playing on my original save I had about 180 hrs in it before it crashed during saving and corrupted my save file. The crashes now, are fewer and far between. I am on Series S as well.
You can still play. You just have to start over. Unfortunately, because it corrupts save files more often than not, it’s not likely that they will find a fix to give us our saves back.
I know it’s defeating to lose a save. I stopped playing for 2 months because of it. Just recently came back and really started playing again

It’s crazy that that happens with the save of a game on a game console. But man, I hope the next update fixes that and other game breaking bugs.
I can live with a bug or two if it’s not gamebreaking.

Overall the Steam version is much more stable in its current state. Xbox and PS5 will need more refinement to smooth out the issues. If they were capable of hiring more people to solely work on consoles that would probably speed the process along. Although I’m not sure where the current employees are fully assigned. I do know they have over 100 working on the game

From what it’s sounding like, if they can just patch that issue with the save bug, then that might be enough for me to play on game console. I wish I could play on PC, but I don’t own a windows, and am too lazy to use Bootcamp app on my MacBook Pro. Plus, my Steam account got hacked one time and I was forced to make a new account.

They definitely could, the creators just need to have that brought to their attention to focus more on the game console’s gamebreaking bugs.
And then, they could get back to what their priorities are after that.

They are, from what the dev team has said, trying to fix the game breaking save crash bug. I imagine it’s a hard crash to replicate.

I recently stopped playing on Xbox because it kept crashing on me. I wasn't aware of the issue of saves getting deleted. I'm planning on leaving the game alone until maybe later this year. I just started back playing Stardew Valley yesterday instead. I do really like Coral Island. I actually like it better than SV. I just wish it was all the way finished.

ikr? I played the trial version to get an idea of whether or not I'd enjoy the game. For the short time I was allowed to play, I loved the gameplay experience. Knowing there is an issue with saves being deleted randomly on game console makes me have to refrain from purchasing the game 😔
I REALLY want to play this game, but have to wait until that gamebreaking bug is fixed. I can deal with any non-gamebreaking bugs or glitches.
