Yup, still not fixed. I’m sure I’ll get the copy and paste response everyone else gets that says they’re looking into it.
Coding is far more complex lol. Some things are not just an easy fix. They are completely redoing the code from the backend, which should hopefully help by making it more efficient. However, figuring out exactly what piece of code is causing that specific crash is hard to replicate. The reason save files are getting deleted is they are being corrupted when it crashes. This could be caused by any number of issues but my guess is that it has something to do with it lining up with the exact moment that the save tries to copy to the Xbox Cloud system thus corrupting the whole thing.
As someone who lost a 180+ hr save file, I understand not wanting to play it anymore and feeling defeated. But insinuating it’s an easy fix and that the team is just copying and pasting a response without trying is a bit harsh. Trust me, I wasn’t happy when I lost mine. There’s still evidence in the coral general chat from a few months ago of me being disgruntled. But I also am pursuing a bachelors in game programming and so maybe I’m a little more understanding/lenient when it comes to fixes being “quick”. Code contains logic, but it is not logical. Hopefully the team is getting closer to a fix.
If it helps, take a break from the game. I had to before coming back.
I had the same thing however the file still existed but wasn’t registering so I forced shut down the game and once I reloaded the game it registered my file again and I was able to get it back
Never said it was an easy fix. Said it was still happening, I wasn’t expecting a response besides “we’re looking into it” and that I may not play again because I’m frustrated. Had I known about this issue before I started playing I honestly probably wouldn’t have bothered starting the game. I am allowed to express my disappointment.
I was not implying you weren’t allowed to express your disappointment. Trust me, I expressed plenty and told plenty of people about it 4 months ago when I lost my 180 hr save. My response was to both you and the other person that had responded.
I work in software development. My thing is - they should be dedicating all of their developers to this issue rather than game enhancements IMO. This is a game-breaking bug.
Yeh, I've been a software engineer for 14 years, at one point working for a large company but the dev team was just 3 of us.
If we'd released something this buggy, with a literal game breaking bug, it would be all hands on deck to fix the problem instead of adding new functionality.
I'm personally of the opinion that if they want to focus on content then they should remove the console release, focus on content for Steam/PC, get that right and then move back onto console.

How is it that you can fix the torch issue with a hot fix but there’s no hot fix to fix the game that’s deleting our saves how long are we gonna suffer from the negligence of the devs ??!
I understand how you feel.I can't play because I don't want my farm delated it's been in the game since late December or January and still no fix can a fix to a little thing wait andonly focus on the big issue we have. We won't be seeing the little things because we can't play making them useless to us.
@wicked wedge Can we get a real update rather than “devs are looking into this” that you’ve been giving for the past 5 months? I’d love to play the game again. How close are the devs to figuring this out? Any progress since November?
