Hey, I'm trying to get the Red Beryl. Does anyone have any tips for getting mostly geodes out of rocks? I've been getting a lot of fossils but the geodes are rare.

If you don't mind, you could amass some geodes and reload the day if you don't get the gem you require when cracking them open!
Otherwise there's no trick to it, just make sure you have max enchanted rare drop on your pickaxe, and make sure you have the opal rings as well! Geode rates are abysmal ngl, especially compared to fossils and coffers so your experience is universal.

also make sure you’re focusing on the earth/bronze mine and earth geodes and make sure you’re hitting all the gem rocks in the earth mines too! i’ve somehow gotten 3 red beryl from the gem rocks there

The first few floors of the earth mine seem to have better geode drop rates. I got like 30 on the first 10 floors with destroying everything . Then I got the red berryl in like the second I cracked open

There are like NO gem nodes in the mines anymore! I have found two and I've cleared all of the mines. Thanks for the tip about the first few floors, I'll give that a shot

Yeah, geode drop rates are low. Especially compared to coffers.

If you have enchantments available, you'll want extra drop and rare drop for the chance to get more geodes every time you hit a rock. Only use the pickaxe as the explosives won't give you the extra. It took me nearly a year and a half in game to get a stupid Red Beryl as it was also the last one I needed to donate to the museum as well. Good luck!
