I am stuck, and can't find the jewel to active this. I have cleaned all the trash up and it hasn't spawned. I stopped playing for several weeks, and came back recently to more clean up more trash without it spawning again. Is my game just broken or is this section currently unpassable?

iirc that’s one that’s pretty far away, as long as you’re not blocked by the oil gates i’d just keep going and come back for it later
edited to add: i think there’s one gate blocking you from going immediately into the eastern area from that location but if you go up above you can get into that area and work your way down

Sometimes it is quite far away. And sometimes an area looks blocked off but a single path to it has opened. I found those 2 bits of confusion covered the times I felt blocked
