There's not a drop rate problem with the trex leg is there? I've done a few hundred large nodes and so have a two other people I know. Has any one gotten one and we just have bad luck?

i got the t-rex leg. someone else recommended this that worked for me: stock up on fossil nodes, go break them, and if you don't get the t-rex leg, reload the day, and go break them again until you get one

Also stock up on the right ones trex fossils are only found in a certain type of fossil so saving a bunch won’t do anything for you but if you can find the right fossils it saves you trips to the blacksmith
