I was in the middle of summer in my second year, went to bed and it crashed (like it sometimes does, didn’t surprise me.) only to come back to the game and my whole game file is deleted. seriously in tears, over 70 hours of my life. gone. my heart is broken 😭😭😭😭

May I ask have you updated your game to the latest version? You should get a prompt to load your backup save file. We're also investigating more for people who didn't get the prompt.

Once again, we're really sorry about this. We will work to improve our save file system so this doesn't happen again in the future 🙇‍♀️ 🙇‍♀️ 🙇‍♀️

Oh my goodness! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly ! And yes my console is up to date! I have all your platforms on notifications so I know anytime an update comes. I am really really loving this game just so sad this happened. I wanna keep playing but I just can’t start over 😭😭🤍

Woa it's good to hear that your game is always up to date. I know how frustrating it must be to lost your save file. I can feel your pain through your report 🥲

The teams are still investigating it. When we have news from the teams, I will notify you again. But for now unfortunately if you really want to play it, you have to start a new game. But don't worry because the new save file won't replace the old one 🙂

And I hate to ask this because I’m sure you guys are absolutely flooded with email and working tirelessly to get updates out- but do you think it’ll be possible to recover my old save file? Or should I kinda just forget about it and start a new one. Because if there’s hope, I’d like that! But if not, no worries! Just would like to know :)))

We're still investigating the missing save file issue, and we really hope everyone who lost their save can get it back, unless the save file is corrupted 🙁 if you're already starting a new game, don't worry because it won't replace your save file now, it's a completely different file! 😊

@kind bramble I’d put the game down until they fix their crap. Other people are still (even with the new update) losing entire game files, so I wouldn’t listen to her & start over just to lose your save again. 😦 I put the game down until they completely fix this massive issue.
