Was I supposed to be given fins or something at the night time Coral Tree cutscene? One of the NPCs mentioned how good I looked with my fins and I wasn't wearing any or given any. I am a bit lost on what is going on or where to get them?

After the coral tree scene you are given another quest that once completed will give you a "mermaid form". I'd report the conversation in the bugs, as it shouldn't have occurred until after you did that next quest.
