Recover xbox lost save after crash?

I’ve been playing Coral Island for weeks now and after about 70 hours my game crashed and it deleted my save file. It sucked but I restarted after the last big update for xbox and it’s been much smoother until tonight when the same thing happened with my game that had over 200 hours in it.

I know you can recover save files on PC, but I’m playing on Xbox Series S. Is there anything I can do to get any form of my save file back?

I needed less than 10 items to fully complete the museum, the only thing I had left to do in the game. My house and farm were meticulously decorated. My heart is gonna take a while to recover from losing this one so any help would be massively appreciated.

I just noticed you are not on game pass. Maybe someone else has some ideas?

Thank you so much for sharing anyway. I am actually using Game Pass, but not the PC version unfortunately.

This happened to me too, and I didn't get my org save back. I am also playing on Xbox game pass, was on xbox only when I lost my first save, now I play on the GP on both PC and Xbox

Hi Novita, thank you so much for the response and for letting us know this bug is being worked on. Unfortunately when I loaded in, I still only had my 3rd and newest save that I created after I lost the other two (yes, I’m a glutton for punishment but I adore this game so here we are again lol).

When I lost my first game and it had been the only save, the system was still showing that I had save data on it, it just wasn’t showing when I loaded the game. Others online have said the same thing as well.

Here’s hoping we may get our other games back because the game is truly stunning, especially after the last update fixing so many crashes. Please let me know if you need any additional info.

hello, i just lost my game file on the xbox console and ive tried everything and looked everywhere on the console to try recover it but failed 😔 im so disheartened coz i was so far in the game.

I’m so sorry to hear that and I know that heartbreak well. It may be a false hope, but seeing the message above and knowing that Xbox still said I had save data…there’s a part of me that’s hoping our save is still on the system, but the game can’t read it. Hoping with all hope that’s the case and an update to the game in the future will make it readable again.

Lol best course of action! I’m trying to stay positive and in the meantime am almost speed running a new game to get back to where I was using all the knowledge I picked up the first two runs 😄 It’s amazing what a difference that makes.

yea i feel like now i know what i know i could do things better this time, i dont know why im hung up on starting a new save... i start a new save for Stardew all the time 😅 same difference really
