Advice for Cherry Blossom and Harvest Festival?

I keep fudging my potluck contributions for Cherry Blossom (two years) and next Harvest I want Starlet Town to win and beat that smarmy farmer. Should I adopt a quail and just display Quail Eggs? What advice do people have?

Cherry blossom- put sea salt into the mill and out that in or fish a cray fish

crayfish at silver level will win the cherry blossom potluck (i never tried the salt since crayfish are so easy to catch) and i haven’t seen the thread on harvest fest but you can get max points with 1 large quail egg, 1 cauliflower, 1 cactus flower, 1 melon, 1 large goat milk, and any artisan product worth at least 400 coins, all at osmium level. a fairy rose flower if you don’t have cactus yet will decrease your points slightly but should still win. the diversity points you get for hitting each category (6 points each) are worth more than replacing a category with a higher cost item (5 points for cost alone)

You can also do Potato gold or Potato osmium for Cherry Blossom. Seems like for me, potato is the most winnable spring crops than cauliflower.

potato sells for way less than cauliflower so you won’t get as many points. points are calculated by both price & quality

Idk how, but in my game Judge Ross says wow to the potato osmium instead of cauliflower osmium 🤔 Just for the festival, i would just donate potato from that point on and profit the cauliflower.

Harvest festival's a different story tho. Yes they count it based on the price and quality.

Thank you everyone! So update: I have a quail now, but I need to upgrade my barn first and to do that I need more hardwood so will do that first

I have osmium grape jam, golden grape juice, a golden potato, banana juice and dragon fruit jam

I can upgrade the hay I think and that might help the egg chances

check the price on your jams and juices. price and quality are given points separately, so an osmium quality item that’s a low price will get full quality points but low price points

in the first and second year it’s sometimes better to go with more artisan goods at a higher price/quality than trying to hit each category, like there are a lot of honeys that reach 400c

also an osmium cheese wheel hits the threshold, if your cows are giving large milks then upgrading your hay will get you mostly osmium milk

for flowers the highest priced ones are cactus, fairy rose, orchid, and lily i think

wildflower honey generally doesn’t sell for much

are you in the first or second year? i ask bc the points needed to beat bobby go up each year, i think year 1 he’s usually around 65, year 2 is 120ish, and starting in year 3 you basically need max points (181)

if the fairy rose is gold or osmium quality id save that for the flower category and use the orchid for honey

once you get the hay to osmium the quality improvement is immediate, so it should be enough

also, the jams and juices count as artisan goods and don’t get you diversity points for hitting each category

as does cheese, mayonnaise, cloth, etc

Not much. I’m on day 11 and in my defense it took forever to even get to the level two coop to get a quail

oh dang you don’t have the aging barrel yet? you get gifted one around farm level 7 or 8 i think, but you don’t get the crafting recipe until farming level 10

i don’t like sake as a regular crop bc it takes ages to process but if you’ve got some high quality rice and a keg it’ll def hit the price threshold
