during winter, can i let my pigs/luwaks out to find their drops or do i need to keep them inside to stay warm?

The issue is more pigs need grass to find truffles. There is no/little grass in the winter. You can let them out during winter as long as it's sunny, they have food in the barn, and temperature machines, but there's no grass so they won't find anything

well i have some grass leftover from fall, it just started so will that work?

You can try., But the grass won't last. As soon as you get a snow day they die. But it's worth letting them out IMHO. There's conflicting experiences but definitely I let my animals out and I maxed out my animals hearts quick

You can plant grass in winter for pigs. Yes it dies off every few days but if you plant just enough on days your pigs should find truffles it’s fine.

I let my animals out in sunny days in winter, no grass, hay in the barn, and I still get truffles. I check Jack's ranch above the farm if I'm not sure to let animals out. If it's good weather for Jack's animals to be out, it's good for me 👍

I just wanted to update this, the first week I got truffles. I'm no longer getting truffles and winter is almost done. I'm not sure what causes the truffles. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. 😔

Yes but everytime they go out they will “graze” so you’ll be out fairly quickly and be back at not getting any. I’ve heard you can still plant some from some players but really I just suck up not getting those two products in winter
