What are the requirements to upgrade the barn and chicken coop? I'm level 10 everywhere and I've unlocked a lot of things, but I still don't have the upgrade.

You mean upgrade to Level 2?
Visit the carpenter then choose Edit Farm Buildings, select the building you want to upgrade, the Upgrade option will appear
As for the materials, you can check it once you select it for Upgrade or you can look up the materials you need online so you don't keep going back to the Carpenters 😄
