#what happens to animal and objects inside a shed or barn when you move them?

Depending on the system- the sheds could be bugged and you lose your stuff BUT normally nothing. It all goes with.

I plan to take out my weather thingies because I heard from many they lost them in upgrades and moves but mostly it seems it is a hot or miss

Yeah. The animals themselves are fine. When things aren't bugged it all just stays but right now we have all sorts of fun bugs
