I am a veteran Stardew Valley player but new to Coral Island and I have some doubts. Regarding the option of the duration of one day, which option is the most recommended? I play 100% because I like to play with the approach that the developers design and I think that increasing the length of the day is an advantage that breaks the difficulty of the game but I would like to know opinions from veterans. On the other hand, the mining of the game is annoying to me. It is very complicated compared to Stardew Valley, I find very few cobra veins compared to the other game and the energy is spent very quickly. Any advice to get more out of mining or am I making a mistake? Finally, I am struggling to increase the rank from the city to E, but I can't find a balanced way to level up, for example, in the marine theme I am at the minimum, however it is one of the activities that I do the most and that I like the most, could you explain to me exactly what it is? What should I do to upload it? I've seen what each item scores on the menu but I think I'm taking the wrong approach.

Speed time- I play at 50% and have 1k hours and it's all I play at.
Mining. Just keep going. Get rare rocks and enchant your pick and you'll be swimming in ore
You max at rank A. Clearing the ocean will be a nice boost. Finishing altar bundles.
There's no wrong way to play. Just take your time and find stuff as you go. Upgrade your net and rod and then start fishing and catching stuff
If you're frustrated, slow down the game. Give yourself more time each day to do stuff. I know a lot of people like 70% as a sweet spot
The problem is that I feel like I'm cheating if I modify the time. I would like the game to be designed with a fixed time, at least to obtain the achievements.
How's it cheating if the devs gave you the option?
I play on 100%, but if you're not having fun then there's no harm in changing it.
With mining, I make sure to upgrade the pickax to match each mine so it only takes one swing to break the rocks to help save energy. It also helps knowing the elevators are ||every five floors except for 30 to 40||. It takes half a day, maybe 3/4 if you have bad luck, to get to the next elevator, and with the amount of candied tree seed sand jamu you get along the way energy shouldn't really a problem
I also find you just have to kind of say, today is a day I'm spending in the mines. It's probably not going to work if you want to plants some crops, deliver some gifts, and get that one fish that's only out at noon. Part of the challenge of the game is time management, but there's no time limit so what's the rush? If you miss a thing it'll come around again next year
You also don't need to increase thing equally. If you want to focus on clearing the ocean instead of completing the alters, you can, or you can prioritize donating to the museum. You can also just ignore all that and talk to people if you want. There's no right or wrong way to play
I feel the same about the mines. Generally I think everything is just not enough. Not enough ore rocks or veins. Not enough geodes or fossils. Not enough loot from the monsters. Not enough damage from them either, I don't feel like I need to even fight them just ignore and keep mining.
But yeah like others said, upgrading and enchanting the pickaxe will bring more ores.
Because these types of video games pose a "challenge" by having to manage the resources and time of the day to progress, reducing the length of the day by 50% provides a huge advantage to the player and in my opinion completely distorts the "challenge" that The video game proposes being able to do everything much easier and exponentially in the long term. Personally, I would like the game to have a fixed and recommended time cycle to enjoy the game experience.
The time scale setting is kind of a difficulty slider. If you want an easier time playing you'd want to set it at a slower pace, especially at the beginning. But nobody forces you to.
Sounds extremely cliche but the most recommended speed is the speed at which you're happy, and as others have said there's no right way to play. Coral Island is predominantly a single-player game, and any competitive or challenge aspects are self-imposed.
I like minmaxing my days so 50% is my go-to. It may be deemed an "easier difficulty" but being able to push my still limited time to say, "complete" the entire game within the first year or optimise your farm as much as possible is what makes the game fun for me. Maybe I'll try to see how far I can push it at 100% speed in the future after I am happy with my current playthrough.
Some people even adjust the speed according to what they're doing. So if you struggle with mines, you can choose to decrease the speed when you're mining and the rest of the time play at 100%.
So fix the time cycle. Keep it at 100%, make it at 75% and only play on that speed. Some people have trouble playing the game with settings at 100% whether it be health or personal choice. Just because it’s an option does not mean you have to use it. The whole point of farming games is for it to be cozy and relaxing, that’s it. They really aren’t meant to be challenging unless you want it to. Even harvest moon and story of seasons give you an easy and advanced mode depending on what works best for you. The only hindering the enjoyment of the game is yourself. Play however you want to enjoy it and if you like the challenge than you’ll have to deal with the mines being more difficult. Maybe you can buy or make rope to get through them quicker
The best way to level town ranking is completing altars, donating to the museum, clearing out the ocean, and lots of farming!! Check out Sarah sunstone on youtube she has a video on how reach town rank C quickly. Im at town rank C on year 1 in winter. I primarily focused on clearing out the ocean, donating to the museum and farming so i could get new crafting recipes for my crops to make more profit
Then don't change the time? Like it's cool that's your opinion and all. If you don't want to change the time- don't. I'll play as I please at my 50%
