I have rescued all the giants and they mentioned someone else was the one who cursed them, but I have not gotten any new prompts on how to continue. I can also see in the journal there are clearly monsters i haven't faced yet so i am guessing there is another area to go to.

I think this is as far as we can progress for now. We will have to wait for an update to be able to move on

Yep you'll see that it say WIP for the other giants. I'm assuming that will be released later on for the giant quest

I’m assuming either something new will open up in the mines, later on after a future update, or a new set of mines, or something will open up somewhere else (perhaps somewhere in the savanna?)

You need the Savannah to finish the story and that won’t be available until some ambiguous time next year
