fruit trees and fruit plants

Hi everyone,
I want to upgrade my fruit trees and fruit plants to bronze quality at the lab but I would like to know if existing trees on my farm will be upgraded with it or will I have to buy new saplings and replant them? I'm asking because hay upgrades automatically but I wasn't sure if fruit trees and plants were the same?

Existing trees and plants will be upgraded, make sure the seedlings are the ones you wait to plant because they only last one or two seasons. Saplings you don’t have to water and grow into trees that have fruit
