I’m so angry I played all the way to fall as my game was saving it crashed and my save is no longer there I generally feel like crying all my hard work gone 😓

The devs has been informed about the issue and we're currently investigating this. Because Xbox uses a cloud system, we are still looking for a solution to be able to access save files on the cloud system 🙇‍♀️

Hello. My 7 year old son just lost his save file due to a crash during saving. This was using Xbox Cloud Gaming. He was saving on the night of Spring 28 Year 4. The game crashed while saving. The first time this happened he replayed the day and tried saving again at the end. It again crashed during the save and his save file no longer shows up in the list of available saves.

I haven't told him yet that his save file is gone. I cannot tell you how devastated he will be if this file is gone permanently. I don't know what to do.

And I just read that back you said Lil man was already on year 4?!?! My freaking heart. I'm so sorry.. I've been keeping up with the threads and sadly the only response people have got about losing save files for a month now is automated messages. For right now these saves seem to be lost and the devs don't see it fit to warn xbox console players..

He is so emotionally invested in this character. He's not "good" at the game as far as things like efficient farming or ranching, but he's so into the story, his clothes, the furniture, the relationships, etc. I 100% guarantee he will specifically have a meltdown over losing Suki.

I can't imagine how the little guy is going to handle it. I'm already devastated, it was my second run after I heard the museum was fixed..I love the game, hate the bugs and crashes...

@white fox - I'd really appreciate an update on this issue. My son was crying this morning because he couldn't play. I need to know whether to tell him to wait a little longer or if I need to tell him his save file is gone permanently.

They are gone this issue has been going on for well over a month. They have been giving the automated messages to people on other threads still asking if people got any video of the crash

After the quest series "cleaning the ocean" the crashes started until error 9 came at the end

@dreamy otter - when I read about your crash it sounded different than what my son experienced. His save file wasn't overwritten with a new day 1 file - it was erased entirely. Also, are you on Xbox S or X Box Cloud Gaming?

@gilded arch the Uninstall and restart did not work for me also when I go into the finals it shows my save data but nothing to load

It’s upsetting because I love the game it’s my favourite but the fact it crashed and I lost all my work makes it less fun ,but touch wood since the latest hit fix I haven’t had much crashes so hopefully less crashes means less chance if losing everything

@gilded arch no the latest patch bought the game loss I think as I was fine till I played today and I lost my save in the last hour even after the patch

It's still crashing for me, too, since today's hotfix, and I've also lost my save. Can't be bothered deleting my game and trying to restore it. I no longer have faith these issues will be resolved.

For the developer: why not THOROUGHLY playtest the next version before you release it, then be honest about what you've fixed and what you haven't? Right now, you're posting these "hotfixes" that don't fix much of anything, telling us our issues are addressed, and we're jumping in cheerfully only to encounter the same endless bugs. If you'd been honest and told us, "hey, it's not ready yet, but we're working on it," everyone who's lost their save could've avoided that nuisance.

It was a nice little game while it lasted, but REALLY not worth this level of frustration.

Well I made a new game, and compared to how much it was crashing on the previous save its been a bit better, so I'm not sure, but diving still crashes sometimes and so does inventory , only had them once each, 2 times I think was the quick resume, and the rest was the fall harvest festival, took like 8 attempts and in the end I just had to take the L and not pick up my items from the box to take back home with me cause thats what was crashing it. So not fixed but an improvement really.

I completely lost the game file on xbox series s basically from what i gathered there no hope in restoring. was in year 3 and had a farm and animals. super devastating there was no trigger just randomly walking and it crashed again except this time when i tried starting again the save file was gone. i recommend anyone on xbox series s be super wary till this is adressed .

@vocal dirge I found a way to stop the save deletion. After reading through a few more posts, I decided to blend a few of their methods and see if it worked, and it does! So basically the game save deletion (at least for me) has occurred when the game crashes while saving. So when that happens,and I'm returned to the Xbox home screen, I go to My Games and uninstall Coral Island. Once it has been uninstalled, I immediately restart the Xbox. Once the Xbox is back at the home screen, I re-download Coral Island. This has worked each time the crash while save glitch has happened to me (5 times total now). You will lose one day's progress, with that being the day you were on when the game tried to save but failed. But it beats re-doing hours and hours of gameplay! Hopefully this helps someone in the future, until a more permanent fix is implemented sometime in 2024.

I should also mention here, that if you opened the game and allowed it to synch with the cloud, the above method will not work, sadly. This only works if after you've started a new game, and encounter a crash while saving (the main instance in which the deletions happen), you follow these steps.

Hi everyone. We've released a new hotfix for the Xbox Series a few days ago. You should get a prompt to load your backup save file if you experience missing save file previously. Please note as the file is from your backup, you may lose a few days when opening it. Feel free to poke me if you have questions about this. Thank you for your patience! 🙇‍♀️

@white fox - I just checked and my son's save is still missing. We are on Xbox Cloud Gaming (playing directly on our Samsung smart tv).
