Catch bugs that are running away?

Just wondering... sometimes when a bug is alerted and starts to run away I'm still able to catch them when they're highlighted. For other bugs as soon as they're alerted they are no longer able to be caught - it tends to be the faster ones that this happens to.

I swear it's not a skill thing - I have definitely had the alerted bugs highlighted and in the correct net area, and yet it won't catch them when I try!

So my question really is: Are there some bugs that you just can't catch if they are alerted?

I have sometimes the issue where the bug is in my catch area but still it won’t catch it (my net is silver) that’s why i put insect traps at some places where they appear. Handy for when u need bugs for the offering, like the tiger beetle I couldn’t catch with my net bcaus it just was alerted right away so it got in my traps a few in-game hours later
