#Game crash when I "catch a bug"

Hi @subtle sparrow. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for the report. May I ask which platform you’re currently playing (Steam PC/Deck, Xbox PC/S/X, PlayStation 5)? 🙂
Do you happen to have any recorded video of the issue? 🙂
Pc gamepass
Do you happen to have any recorded video of the issue? 🙂
I have been having issues with the game crashing when catching a bug as well. It has happened twice in a row. No video. Also playing on PC with gamepass. Also happened at night. I am in the first day of fall, year 1. Both times the game froze were mid swipe of my net. First time was catching a tarantula in town, the second was a black widow by the lookout. I have a gold net.
Found another thread on this. seems like it is a known issue. Hopefully it is fixed soon.
Playing PC version 1.4
Just had the same issue twice when catching a spider insect at night. Game froze and after a few minutes crashed. Opened the task manger once and it crashed and let it sit once and it crashed. Really annoying because you lose the whole day and it’s a night insect.
@foggy fable
Hi! May I ask is it always happens when catching spider, or it's happens to all of the night insects? 🙂
@foggy fable This happens to me, also playing on pc game pass. So far it happens everytime with the Widow Spider. Also happened once with Magnolia Green Jumper. I have not had it happen with any other bugs caught during nighttime. Currently using a gold net. I'll try and get a video
It happens with the tarantula as well. I saw the Rove Beetle and was too nervous to try it and lose all my progress for the day.
Also happening to me - It happens with any spider I try to catch. The first time I didn't think much of it, but every time I try to go after the Magnolia Jumper guy my game crashes. I saw online people were using traps to catch them to avoid this, but I can't get them into traps either.
I am also on PC/Game Pass
I see. Thank you for the info, everyone. We will inform our teams about this issue 🙂
