*Spoiler warning* can you undo the Merfolk Blessing?

I'm having trouble catching some of the ocean critters after getting the merfolk blessing. I was able to catch these before when I was in my diving suit, but now I'm much slower (with the tail). Is there a way to undo the merfolk blessing and go back to the diving suit?

You’re slower with the tail? That’s strange, I became a lot faster with it. I wonder if your game is experiencing a lag. I don’t think there’s a way to go back to the scuba suit but you can revert your game to a previous save and just go back to before you received the blessing.

Did you unequip the ring of speed? Mertail upgrade makes you way faster and you can dash. If you really want more movement speed while diving you can equip the black marlin ring too.

I'm slower when I'm trying to sneak up on critters. Or maybe the critter alert fills up faster?

Swimming is faster, but creeping up on the critters seems to be slowed down or their meter is filling up way faster. I didn't struggle catching the isopods before I got the tail and now it's impossible. They get away before I'm anywhere near them.
