Playing on series S went to sleep game crashed and deleted my whole save I spent over a week making that, what's the point in even playing, so disappointed the games clearly unfinished and now I don't think I will ever play again

It happened to me too. Weirdly instead of losing all saves I got sent back to Spring 23 Y1 (it’s supposed to be Fall 9 Y1), and my game hours shown in steam decreased significantly.
Update: I have solved the missing save file by restoring backup so it’s only missing few days progress instead of months. Lose some grind but I think I will only go back when the crash issues have been solved. Such a PTSD.

I am interested to know if you‘re playing on 100% speed or not? Cause I feel like my problems started when I changed it, but I haven’t tested it yet

So I was playing on 50% speel @wild trout, and as for activities I was returning from a day I'm the cavern and come home to sleep as it was 11:50pm game time and as it pulled up the icon that says saving, the game crashed, frustrating already to lose the days progress but I loaded it back up again and then my save was completely gone ☹️
Yeah this game is great and it's the stardew like I've been waiting for but the game is riddled with issues and crashed multiple times in a few hours play, and there's also no coop which sucks, I wish the team the best in getting the game sorted but at least until there's a new update so I can use the museum again and make it through several days without a crash, I just can't ☹️☹️☹️

This just happened to me as well. My entire save is completely gone and it's try to have me make a new save. Did we ever find out how to get the saves back?

Same thing happened to me today. I played last night, and as it was transitioning days/saving, the game crashed. Got home from work to make up the lost progress from the crash, and my game save is just gone. Between the random crashes, and now the lost saves, I am taking a long hiatus from this game.

Same story here. Crashed during the day/save transition and straight deleted everything I had done since 1.0 launched.
This was on Xbox Cloud Streaming (so likely the Xbox s version of the game)
Never had these issues on the PC GamePass version I used to play

The devs has been informed about the issue and we're currently investigating this. Because Xbox uses a cloud system, we are still looking for a solution to be able to access save files on the cloud system 🙇♀️

My husband tried to recover my file from the cloud after it deleted it and he said he couldn't get it because the Xbox Cloud rewrites over every save. So when my game crashed, it wrote over the save I had for the day with the new save which was the no data save

You aren’t getting that back. A whole lot of us were told we will never get our save back and they will “try” to improve their save system.
