Why is there so much unusable space in the greenhouse?

The plantable area seems small and I can't place any chests, trees, or saplings on the outside tiles. Are there plans to allow that?

I wish the same thing. I would like to be able to at least place my chests along the wall with my seeds in it so I can use the entire plot of land for seeds.

I’d love to be able to place processors on the outside tiles. I’m just going to put greenhouse crops into them anyway, so may as well save some steps outside.

Being able to plant trees would be pretty though.

I have trees inside my greenhouse. It just eats up on usable planting space.

I was surprised we could not use the space around the edges to at least store chests or machines. Would love to utilize the edges.
