Game crashes when trying to talk to Lily after we got married. Happened day of wedding and day after wedding. Im on Steam/PC.

same thing happened when I married Pablo just now! I copied the crash report thing, and tried to make a post, but it wouldn't allow me too, and that's when I came across this

ooh, wait, I fixed it for me!
I tried closing all of my windows and restarting my computer just to try it, and when I went back in, I managed to get dialogue without a crash!

i also solved the crashes with dialogue just restarting the game, but doesn't fix all the crash problems during the first hour of game. it just keep crashing doing anything to me. there is something wrong in the update

Just married Lily and it crashes everytime I talk to her afterwards on Steam. I've now married her six times. I've rebooted my PC, tried on my Steam Deck and tried on my Linux (Arch-KDE Wayland) laptop - they all crash.

FYI - You can use the Steam Console (Win+R and then steam://open/console) to download the previous version of the game which so far has worked fine. Make sure you turn off autoupdating and backup your save first just in case. Here is the console command to get the previous version: download_depot 1158160 1158161 7212572229716159752 You'll need to copy the newly downloaded files over your old ones.

Got the same thing when talking to Wakuu. Happened after wedding (so had to redo that entire day), and happened again on a new day

Steam version- married to Yuri unreal crash I can’t talk to her anymore. I was hoping it was just a bug for that day cause of the wedding so I let that day finish got the save of next day and it’s still the same thing and now she doesn’t sleep in the bed? Also have restarted serval times.

so i did @ Wilda's solution: downloaded the previous version, played through the wedding and waited out the day till the next, then updated the game once game saved after the wedding day and I don't have any crashes anymore derp

This happened a few times, first time was near the end of the day on the day we just gor married, I talked to her on the beach and my Unreal crashed, I shrugged and restarted, then slept right after the wedding to move onto the next day, when i woke up to Leah I spoke to her again and it crashed again.
I then restarted and remembered that my pet has been a buggy mess recently, often repeating the last text box I had seen when I tried to pet it, I talked to it, it gave me a blank text box, then I spoke to Leah and it was like we had 0 hearts back in spring 1 again, no marriage dialogue whatsoever + called me smelly (i am a farmer but that hurts a little) But there was no crash this time.
So I decided to restart the game, then talked to Leah again to see if I could get a crash report for you guys to look at, but it doesn't crash anymore and Leah doesn't seem to remember we're married.
Game Version is the latest: (v1-176)
Input Mode: Keyboard/Steam
Save is on the day after the marriage.

The same just happened to me with Pablo!

I married Pablo on Summer 2 Year 2. The wedding went fine, but any time I tried to talk to Pablo after the wedding, the game crashed to the desktop. I tried talking to him on the farm, at the taco stand, and at different times of day, and the game crashes the moment I click on Pablo. I even slept and went to the next day, and when I clicked on Pablo to talk to him the game froze, took me back in time to the wedding day (it said "today's your wedding" and had me in my wedding attire again) before crashing to the desktop. I can progress other parts of the game like normal, but talking to Pablo at all crashes the game entirely.

We may have. It's almost like the current version is trying to load dialog that isn't there or was linked incorrectly. I still have my backed up save from my wedding day and will try it once a new patch comes out to see if anything is different.

This happened to me too, was married to Theo, I decided to just refund the game for now, thanks steam 🙃

I grabbed the old version on my wedding morning save, that's where I was in the game when the broken patch came out. I'm still playing on the old version and I do not plan on rolling back to my wedding day save except maybe to see if there is anything new in the broken patch. If you played with the new version and ignored your spouse to prevent a crash I don't think you miss much dialog, maybe a line or two, as most of the new lines are repeated quite often like most dialog in the game.

I have no idea for everyone else out there. But after day two of not being able to talk to Yuri after marriage I started the morning by going and getting a liked gift, gave it to her and a dialogue popped up saying thank you or whatever. Then I tried talking to her right after and it’s all fine now I can talk to her everyday now with no problems. And also I have a whole line of hearts I need to fill now under the previous two making three lines and I didn’t have that before. But just incase anything happens i always just chat her first thing in morning so I wouldn’t loose anything. Goodluck everyone hopefully this might work for you. I will update if i crash again for this reason

not sure its related but my pet also gone after partner move in, so probably something related to the pet dialogue bug
also the crash only happen inside the farm house, outside and other building seems working fine

The depot thing wasnt working out so I just got married. Gave a gift to theo and he said thank you and I can talk to him again!

Edit: tested on the next day after that. Works ok! I talked to him and it didn't crash

Mine kept crashing until I talked to my dog the next morning. I was able to talk to Scott without a problem after that. Weird!

I've been having this bug for the last couple days now, just married theo and tried to talk to him after wedding, tried this a couple times doing different things each time and still it crashed when talking to him. Even went so far as to sleep without talking to him until the next day, he said one thing and then my game crashed trying to talk to him again and get the rest of his dialogue :c

im so convince there something wrong with the pet, so i do a little bit of testing and found somehow partially working fix for it
not sure it works for others but this tested with Suki

  1. go to wedding
  2. straight sleep after wedding
  3. waking up next day go talk to your buggy pet
  4. talk to your spouse (at this point you will not crash on first dialogue)
  5. talk again to your spouse for the second time (u crash)
  6. open game again and the dialogue should working fine without crash

Sadly Valentina cannot be interacted after this because of new "Valentina has nothing more to say today" bug, but hey no crash anymore.

Seems to have worked but it's quite frustrating to have to do a tightrope balancing act with all the crashes Q-Q Was so excited to chat with my new hubby so hopefully it doesn't keep happening

None of these "fixes" have worked for me. Don't have a pet, but giving a gift, waiting, restarting the computer, etc., I still crash the moment I talk to Scott.

I didn't find this crash again, with the solution steps:

  1. only talk to one time(just first dialogue)
  2. Use the gift to speak the second dialogue
  3. Repeat steps one and two for 4 days

After that, there were no crashes when talking to Eva

I'm crashing everytime I talk to wakuu after the wedding :(( going to try restarting my pc now, as a few people mentioned this worked for them.

i literally just got married to scott in game and he vanished from the character list from relationships but i found him at the museum. when i tried to speak to him my game crashed. i started the game again and it was fine till i got married and the next day i tried to speak to scott again and then it crashed again instantly. so sad i wanted to see if he says anything new once you get married

This didn't happen to me, but to the streamers I watch. That is, after getting married with Eva and going to bed and then the next day, cash still occurred.

Apparently, the first festival I encountered playing my save, it fixed my spouse. After two festivals, my npc husband starts to do more animations instead of being freeze in front of the door. Now walks into his room and doing stuff and even cook in the kitchen.

I survived the days before the festival just lowering the graphic settings, to limitate crash possibilities

Then I back to play with my ordinary settings

Is still not totally safe, because is still a little bugged, but I guess is just the last update the problem

But after festivals for some reason, it gets better 🤣
