If this is for the tumpeng pot i usually donate sea salt. Normally gives best result along with crayfish.

Standard Crayfish can be caught in the pond on your farm and is liked, so if all else fails, that is usually an option for year 1 at least. Silver Crayfish, as mentioned, a loved addition if you can catch one, but is going to be near impossible to catch before the year 1 potluck without some insane luck. Beyond that, if you can build a mill and use it to process sea salt, any quality of gourmet salt is loved. You will probably not be able to build a mill in time to process the salt in year 1, but it's great for year 2 and beyond.

I was able to get a mill before the harvest festival it takes a lot of energy and resources but it’s doable

I did too, but it was on my Early Access Save, so I was able to buy a lot of the supplies I needed as soon as their respective shops opened. Definitely more work if you start from scratch.
