Can I catch a Gator Gar with a bronze fishing rod? Or should I wait till Year 2?
Been unlucky with rain this Spring, also only managed to get up to a bronze rod! Bonus: I also have the following rain fish that I need to catch for spring, am I better focusing on one of the following?

@silk glacier I'm also stuck on this one myself didn't get it and I'm on year 2 I tried with a silver pole and still couldn't get it sadly it is one of the harder fishes to get and its all about luck

Oh wow that really is a slippery fish then! Thank you for replying, it at least tells me not to waste all my day trying to get that fish and to maybe see if any of the others are more approachable! Good luck on your fishing adventures

I had a gold fishing pole and caught with hardly any trouble I wasn’t trying to even start fishing with the good upgrade so I can’t say anything other than that

I would advise to focus on upgrading your fishing rod when you can, it makes it a lot easier to catch those tricky fishies. Also, if you can afford it/ have the town rank for it, the Sturdy Computer with the fishing upgrade is a lifesaver. It'll make sure you're in the right spot, and at the right time.

The bait goes into the fishing bobber slot in your inventory, sorry if that doesn't answer your question, I'm a tad confused right now. (Just finished my 4th appointment of the day, and I already have memory and cognition issues, so yeah, fun times. )

@inland orchid do what I've been doing gather a bunch of geods go in open them if yiu dint get what yiu need close game down with out saving and keep trying I did that and by the fourth try I had the red beyrl
