Where can I find Hardwood?

As the title says, I have a silver axe and am at town rank E

When you make six offering bundles at the altar a part of the forest will unlock where you get one to two logs a day, when you complete 14 you will unlock another part of the forest by the caves and have a much bigger supply of hardwood. For now you can buy dynamite and use it around the fallen logs on your farm it should give you 25ish hardwood. I don’t think the silver axe works on the ones on the farm for some reason

An alternate way:
I chopped down the tree trunk north east of the mine, with my silver ax to get enough hardwood for the golden ax. With that I was able to chop down the trunks at the farm (no reason is given why these require more than a silver ax, other than "because the devs decided it" >_>). Also there is a perk which gives you a 2% chance to get hardwood from normal trees.
