#How GPU intensive is Coral Island?

I was playing a rather long session earlier and noticed that my fans were spinning really loudly and upon checking gpu temps, saw that it peaked at 104C, though my CPU temps weren't anything out of the ordinary. I know I was running at max settings; I have a 3080. Does anyone else with a similar/better graphics card have any similar experience?

Not to be the bringer of bad news but check your GPU overall with other games as well. This might mean your GPU is starting to act up. Happened to me as well with my 2070 Super a while back. Started getting high temps and fan rev in MTiS, then Coral Island, then Valheim, then even older games. Google hotspot temps for the GPU. For some, it was fixed when they changed the thermal paste and the thermal pads on their GPU... For me, that was not enough and I ended up changing my GPU entirely.

Haven't played Coral Island with the new GPU (a 4080) because there were a lot of releases I was interested in around this time... and I might be waiting for new content but all the other games in which my PC was basically acting like a helicopter trying to take off are running smoothly.

Also, I had that 2070 super for 2 years so it was not that old... I was not up for an upgrade for another year or 2.

If it’s just this game, maybe try an uninstall and install

I don't think it's fully optimised. I reduced to medium for all settings and haven't had an issue since, high and ultra run hot.

I updated my graphics drivers, verified game files, i'm not exactly sure what to do next if reinstalling doesn't work honestly...

lowering settings isnt a fix though, it's just a stop-gap; but no, I just limited my framerate and it took it down to 80C max, still a bit higher than what i'd ever expect from coral but... it'll be enough for a stop-gap
