Xbox Series S - Repeating Crash - Diving

Not sure if anyone else is having this bug but I’ve had it repeat 3 times now with no way of fixing it myself that I’m aware of.

• Playing on Xbox Series S
• Diving in the Empat Pulu depths @ 40m.
• Clearing areas 19 through to 22.
• Once I clear 21 or 22 and attempt to return to the surface, my game crashes and returns me to Xbox dashboard.
• Currently unaffected by time of day or inventory, crash happens regardless.

Sorry if it’s already been acknowledged, I couldn’t find a post anywhere for this specific problem. Cheers!

Same issues (with the exact same details!) for me. Also Xbox and with Cloud Gaming. Disappointed with this crash because i always cleared out the 2-4 areas before crashing so the whole progress just went out of the window. Tried so many tricks with no avail. Adding the reopened museum crash into the equation, I think I will just stop playing until the hotfix has been released…

Yes, same! Absolutely dead-locked my progress and now I can’t really do anything until the fix rolls out 😕 Sorry to hear you’re having the same problem!

Not sure if this will help at all but I’ve managed to clear up to 21 of 22 by sleeping in the Merfolk Kingdom instead of returning to the surface!

Did you go with Fast Travel to the Merfolk Kingdom after clearing the area? And slept in the Barrack?
Because I tried this too; I even walk/floated all the way to Merfolk Kingdom just to avoid the crash during Fast Travel yet it still crashed once I finally arrived in the Barracks 😂

No I just walked to the barracks and got lucky enough to make a save while sleeping! I can’t clear zone 22 as that immediately crashes my game no matter what I do 🙃

Sorry it didn’t work for you, I’ll keep investigating a workaround and let you know if I find anything!

@astral notch So sad, I just tried what you did; cleared area 16-20 in a day, avoided zone 21-22 in case that's the crash point; walked into the Barrack just to have it crashing again MANNNNN im devastated 😭 Are you playing with 100% time speed?

Hey! No I play with 50% during any diving I do. I managed to clear 21 and 22 last night and then hit “I’m Stuck!” to progress to the next day. Could you try that?

Thank you so much!! I changed the time speed back to 100% before playing; figured that I perhaps it will make a difference before I will try your trick… not sure if it helped but it worked with 100% time speed! 💀 I triggered a cutscene after clearing area 21 and it never crashes again 🥳 Finished clearing the Empat Pulu Zone now yayyy

However, the Museum crash is still ongoing though… 🫠

I’m so so happy it worked for you! What a relief!!

I’m halfway through the final zone and I’ve had a handful of random crashes so all is not cured but at least that frustrating checkpoint is behind us!!

The museum is very much a point of annoyance for me so I’ve elected to just wait for the patch ☹️

Yes!! Although I didnt know that the ‘I’m Stuck!’ option could help with the progress, next time I’ll try that for future crashes 😂 I am really not sure why it takes so long for Xbox/Microsoft to release the hotfix… I already have 4 chests full of things to be donated… my poor sexy shrimp shriveling inside the chest… 💀💀💀
