#NPC Marriage

No, none of the unmarried dateables will start relationships with each other after you've married someone, nor do I think it's something the devs are planning on adding. :<
Such ashame the devs won't add that mechanic, it would be great for world building, immersion and characterisation😪
Especially with having the school!
Oh, well I hope they will maybe change their mind in the future. I love the slice of life events already and I think that would add so much to the world😭
I feel like they sent up relationships that could potentially progress to that in the future. Like there are hints that Charles likes Millie, Leah likes Theo, Noah and Alice. There are definitely some hints or at least well established connections so I think it’s definitely something that even if they don’t officially have them get married, it’s pretty easy to headcanon or feel like they are with just little additions to late game dialogue after the kids are grown up a bit
That‘s why I asked, I feel this way too! It‘s clearly hinted and tbh I want a happy ending for the villagers too. I don‘t think all of them need to, but a few hinted ones would be nice😊
The dating mechanic is planned for next year. This game is incomplete.
I mean it’s just a game that’s still in process of being updated. That’s a mechanic that is definitely not necessary at V1.0 but it’s super cool that they’re going to take user feedback and update in the future. Doesn’t necessarily mean that the current game is incomplete because by that logic, most games are incomplete.
Not at all, it's incomplete because they added marriage in 1.0 and the ability to have children. It makes no sense to add the dating and hangout mechanic post launch. It's abundantly clear that this game was rushed and does have incomplete elements. It is what it is.
I mean I’m not going to say that it wasn’t rushed, clearly there were things they couldn’t add at 1.0 because the publisher wanted it out of EA. But it’s also still being worked on. I just don’t think it deserves as much anger as it’s getting though because things are still being worked on and added into the game. It’s not like they said this is the end version and they’re done working on it.
Nobody has said any of that, what people are upset about is the lack of transparency. They haven't said anything on twitter only on Discord. Not everyone that plays the game has Discord. Some here want go white knighting for devs and diminish other people's concerns because they may fine with whatever piece of crumbs the devs give them. If you pay for a game and expect the game to have certain feature that have not been made available, people have every right to complain whether you like it or not.
I’m not diminishing anyone’s right to be bothered. Bugs are frustrating and especially console players not being able to play. I just feel like some of the people who are complaining are the people who have been playing since EA and saying they “don’t feel like they’ve gotten their money’s worth” when they’ve clocked over 200 hours in the game and are just expecting the game to perfect and have nothing to improve upon.
You are diminishing someone's concern by saying "it's just a game." As someone who has played since early access, there is no excuse for some of the issues the game has to also be available during full release when the devs were already made aware that these issues existed. For example, the repetitive dialogue has been an issue since early access yet it still remains to be fixed.
As someone who also has played since early access, I understand there are bugs, but they are fixing and working on it. At a certain point devs have no say when the game comes out in full release. They can only work on things that they have the ability to fix. The studio is responsible for writers, and artists, and the timeline of what happens when. I’m just trying to remind people that the real people to be frustrated with is the studio. Devs are doing their best with what they have. People can be mad and angry, I just think some compassion is in order for the devs who have dedicated years to building this game.
You can white knight for the devs all you want but you are also ignoring, that some of these issues have been persistent for months and it hasn't been fixed. That's what some have concerns about. Again whether you like it or not, let players say their piece. You gain or lose nothing from that.
If you're talking about "rival romances" that's not planned. I misunderstood the OP.
I’m not ignoring anything. I just acknowledge that bugs and content in games can take a lot of work and are not always easy to fix (look at bugs in other games like the sims where issues have persisted for years before getting fixed, but are always being worked on). I’m just saying that there should be some compassion for the people working on and maintaining this game. It’s a small group of devs with limited resources. Have some compassion for the people who have been building this game that people are so passionate about. If you’re going to be mad, be mad at the studio who has the final say on timelines, resource allocation, headcount, and transparency with the public.
No one is saying they don't have compassion for the devs but once again you shouldn't be bothered by people expressing their disappointment for lack of content or bug fixes. As for the Sims, you forget that EA owns that franchise and they don't give a damn what players want. That's why fixes take long.
Don’t think I’ve forgotten anything. Games take a long time to fix and are highly complex. But sorry people being angry at a hardworking group of people rather than a money hungry company bothers me. It seems like if you feel that way about EA you’d understand why that could bother some people.
With all due respect you're getting triggered over someone having some dislike for the game or what have you. It shouldn't both you as you gain nothing from that or lose anything from that. Let people vent.
The road map was released before launch, I agree there's some things that feel missing and there is problems but they have been fully transparent.
Not so much on Twitter. Not everyone has discord. Also showing a roadmap is just what you have planned. The transparency that some are talking about is in regards to bug and crash fixes.
tbh i think the roadmap was pretty accurate and the updates were released on all platforms. I also think the game runs pretty good on pc, obviously there are some bugs, but the team is quite fast in fixing the most troublesome ones. HOWEVER I do think the console launch really was too soon and if I was playing it on a console, I would be very disappointed
I get what your saying but it has been laid out what's in the game and what's not. I completely get what your saying with bugs and fixes. I was shocked when they did a full release on consoles and PC aswell😶 Not even some big companies do that because of this exact reason. I guess people are so upset aswell because the game has so much potential.
Also with all the bugs and fixes I feel like development of the road map could be stunted🥲
A lot of the crashed are on console and the devs just said that the fix will be released in about 2 weeks.
I agree with the game having potential. It's just surprising to see how quite the devs are in regards to the game fixes and they are also not clear enough in what they are doing. For example, they just stated that they are fixing the post-marriage dialogue but mentioned nothing about pre-marriage dialogue that is also repeating. Other indie studios are more vocal, look at Sun haven, Sandrock, even No Man's Sky. These three games have less devs than Coral Island.
Absolutely fair point, I expected at least a statement to be honest💔
Yeah I read that, and I completly understand people being upset. I also think they did not handle the situation that well. At least a long statement on the reasons für the rushed release would be nice
