crash and deleted save file

Hi I’m playing on Xbox series S game pass and during the end of day save on spring 28 the game crashed and upon opening it completely deleted my save file

The game crashed for me as well at the end of Spring 28! It didn't delete my save file but the crash happened when I went to bed. Same console on game pass as well

The game was saving with the “saving” on screen over night on spring 28 when it crashed. We re opened the game and our save file was completely gone. We tried deleting and re installing the game but that didn’t help

This happened to me! Literally yesterday in fall. I crashed, opened it back up and the save file is gone. I tried to use the cloud back up and it shows I have saved data, it just won’t load.

Does your save file still exist but your game date rolled back to your previous day, or does your save file completely disappear from the game? Would you be able to share a screenshot of save file list from the menu? 🙂

My save file completely disappeared. I had three save files so this shows the other 2. The one missing is the one that crashed on spring 28 overnight save

Contact Humble. Thats what I was directed to do by Microsoft. They MIGHT be able to restore the save but it would have to be on their end cause the games servers would need to be accessed. It’s a long shot but at least a little bit of hope

Thank you so much for your help! Unfortunately for me tho I don’t feel like it’s worth it. I’m taking a break from the game for now I can’t stand anymore heartbreak 😫

Thats extremely fair! I hope you get the closure you need. I’m still extremely heartbroken about my save being deleted as well

I was starting to think I was the only person this happened to 😱! I’m of course not happy anyone had their save files disappear but I had posted on Reddit and emailed the developer (they addressed my report of the museum glitch/bug but didn’t say anything about losing 45+ hours of play) and starting to think I was the only one this happened to! I was in year 2 going into summer, the game crashed and when I came back I ONLY had the option to start a new game 😭😭. I feel gutted losing all that play and story 🥺.

I can't even begin to imagine the frustration you guys must face after loosing so much progress. I am really impressed on how calm you are about it.. I would totally freak out and I am "only" on my first Fall, so I think I will just wait until the game is playable to avoid the hit :/

That's really awful that so many ppl had this problem and there is still no solution for it from Stairway Games.. They could at least allow multiple save files and saving during the day to minimize such cases.

See this is why I wish manual saving was a thing. I wouldnt have lost everything if I had been able to save my progress throughout the day

Hi everyone. We've released a new hotfix for the Xbox Series. You should get a prompt to load your backup save file if you experience missing save file previously.
