#The mines still feel bare

I have been playing this game since early access back 2022. These mines still feel bare when it comes to ore and gems. Especially gems. Farming copper ore is painful when the ore nodes barely show up on any of the floors. I have cleared all 40 floors of the earth mine and haven't gotten much copper ore and have yet to see a single gem. Were gems removed from the game entirely? It also feels like they've scaled back how much ore you can get. Most of the floors in the earth mine so far is just rock. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I have asked them to improve their mines back in early access and I know many people have too. They seem to have taken a few steps back.

Yup. It's worse than it used to be and it wasn't anything near excessive then. I don't see the logic behind removing the happy gem nodes I used to find on every other floor. Having gotten to the end of Fire on 1.0, I can tell you it never gets better. You just have to pick up skills on your skill tree to double up on ore, gemstone, and rare drops to make up for it.

Yea, and rerun them multiple times.

I came here to ask this same question. As someone who did not play in early access the mines feel incomplete. Glad I’m not alone in that thinking. It’s fine if so many machine require ore in order to craft them but to spend so much energy in the mines for such little to show for it is not fun at all. So many things require bronze ore yet there’s so little of it in the mines.

I searched comments specifically for this. I'm getting maybe 2-5 copper a day. It's absolutely miserable.

There are the floor nodes a lot of people are not noticing. Find a discolored spot and hit it and it leads you spot by spot until you get ore. If you're only getting 2-5 copper you are doing something wrong.

im not getting the gem rocks, but ive been getting loads of ore, no problems there, p much every floor has at least a couple, and many have like 12-15, idk if im just really lucky or if theres issues between pc and console? (im on pc)

Sorry, I was replying to the person saying they were getting 5 copper a day. But with the Double Ore skill and enchanting the pickaxe to drop on hit, it does get better.

I get along okay with ore by just going to floors 1, 5, 15 and 25 for a couple days, but it is not fun doing that. It‘s more of a necessity, which is sad. But at least possible I guess.

I have also seen one (1) gem stone and am over halfway through the wind mine. So that‘s really frustrating.

It’s just the early game grind, that heavily emphasises you to be selective on what you should upgrade next with what little resources you have.

Namely, get your pickaxe and scythe up asap and your resource gathering speeds up fast.

I have my pickaxe now at osmium with full enchantments and mining perks, and with my day at 50% and a few jamu in my pack, I average about 160+ ores, 40+ fossils and 30-40 geodes a day.

how am I supposed to upgrade if I don't get enough ores to begin with? also I need the better tools to make more money to upgrade the tools. You are right, that there is a grind, but it feels much harder than - and I hate to make that comparison again - SDV, of which I have also played my fair share of. Not saying they need to up the spawn a ton, but getting one or two orestones a level would be nice, or every other level even

Tool upgrade metal bars needs:

Bronze 5
Silver 5
Gold 3
Osmium 3

It’s really not that many, especially if you aren’t wasting your bars elsewhere.

Alternatively, you can also buy ore from the blacksmith if you’ve already making your money elsewhere eg from farming.

And for those people saying that they’re getting “2-5 copper a day” theres definitely something wrong being done there, likely not having enough stamina.

And I played SDV for 180+ hours, it’s just as grindy if not more lol. It’s just a much older game that people have perfected well-publicised early game routes, or simply have mods to make it much less grindy/slow.

ok what about a compromise? let us ajust how lush stuff like that is, like if we want a more grindy experience or not, I mean we can already adjust daytime and if monsters attack first KittenShrug

I do only get like 3-5 ore stones per 5 to 7 levels, which seems off, maybe it's just bugged or something. idk

dull ingot
#

yeah maybe its bugged, because i see more ore stones even than that, let alone ore total

hardy current

i also have the "no night bugs" bug, so very likely to have general spawn issues i guess 🙃

aw man that sucks hug

that does seem abnormally low; at least something that shouldn't be happening regularly.

i've had many times already where i've gotten 5-8 nodes on even the first floor. which would be roughly 10-15 ores even for a fresh account

regardless tho, mod support will be a thing anyway. there'll be mods to adjust difficulty just like there was for SDV

I about NEVER had ores on the first floor ... so there is something off. welp.

and some thing i've found that many players are struggling with: take your time, its like any other farming sim thats supposed to drawn out over multiple seasons

unless you're a NG+ player, the game isn't designed for people to finish even the shrine offerings in year 1. and even for NG+ its incredibly difficult to

I’m a NG+ player and I’ll still say the drop rates for the geodes and ore is difficult even with maxed out Rare Drop at 160% and hit drop of 160%. Especially in the Fire mines I will only leave with 30 Osmium ore and maybe 5-10 fire/mystery geodes.. but let me go into the Lima Pulu cave (40-50 cave) I’ll leave with at minimum 50 coffers of all types. So I definitely understand peoples frustration with the drop rate with geodes and ores.

prisma peak
#

huh, thats very low for a maxed out tool. whats your game speed at? are you using stamina food like jamu?

hearty scaffold
#

Yes I’m using Jamu, and it’s at 50% currently.

prisma peak

I'm not sure whats going on then, because I was getting 3-4 times what you are on average this past week (and i've been doing a ton of farming for my museum completion)

I may have been lucky but I didn’t have much issues with ore, gems yes but to me I guess it makes sense for them to be a little more rare so everyone doesn’t finish the donations and offering so quick. If I didn’t have enough gems I would just go back to the mines on the floors the elevators reached and I was able to make pretty okay process with the ores that way, don’t know if that helps

my own setup, with 813 max stamina:

#

Rings are 1x Speed and 1x Blessed Opal (Some people go 2x Blessed Opal if they don't like clicking as fast/much)

#

That should be the ideal setup
