Hi! Back when the Early Access started, I was able to play the game on my Lenovo T460 Laptop. Since the spring update, it crashed every time I tried to start the game, right when the stairway games logo came up.

Do I need to upgrade my Laptop? What can I do?

Forgot to add that I installed the most recent version of the game via Steam.

Specifics of my laptop: Lenovo Think Pad T460, Intel i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 64-bit processor, Windows 10, SSD 250 GB, Intel (R) HD Graphics 520

CPU went up to 96% when the game crashed and Coral Island had 3 Tabs open according to my task manager

Hi. I had recently upgraded from early access to 1.0 and the game started crashing consistently and not launching. We were able to get it working by verifying the integrity of the installation. To do that, right click coral island in your list of games > click Properties… > a menu will pop up and there will be a tab on the left that says Installed Files. Click that. > Then click the button that says verify the integrity of game files.

#

It’s not 100% but if any files were missed or corrupted during the upgrade, it should set it straight. I hope this help you.

Hi ! Based on the crash log you received, there seems to be a compatibility problem with your device's graphics card. you can try updating your graphic card before you run the game. Lowering the game's graphic setting will also help reduce the crashes from happening!

Coral Island requires a dedicated graphic card to play. When you were using dedicated graphics before and the problem occurs now, it's because we need more power with every update.

Thank you for understanding.

@oak glade @cloud zephyr I tried different starting options in steam:
-safe
-windowed
-dxlevel80
-autokonfig
-windowed -dxlevel80
-windowed -autokonfig
-dx10
-dx11
-windowed -dx10
-dx11 -32bit
-dx11 -32bit -windowed
-w 640 -h 480

and with everything I tried it crashed at the second logo.
now my question - 480p is not a lot, so it should work, why doesn’t it? seems like it might not have anything to do with my laptops power

# errant orchid 🥺 thanks so much though for your help!

Hey it's me again, I just looked into it, you will have to upgrade your laptop/ and or graphics card. As Coral Island doesn't support Integrated Graphic cards (which is what u have atm) and needs Dedicated Graphic cards to play. And updating your laptop to Windows 11 as well!
